Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent - Plywood
Major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to; directing and coordinating all activities of the mechanical maintenance department; ensuring that employees follow safe work practices to eliminate accidents or injuries; following the direction of the mechanical maintenance manager to coordinate and supervise maintenance activities to ensure the achievement of safety, recovery, quality, and production business goals; recommends new methods and procedures to improve mill-wide operations; on call 24 hours a day for plant related problems
The ideal candidate will possess a high school degree. A college degree is preferable or the equivalent professional experience. Must have a minimum of 5 years mechanical maintenance supervision experience directing the activities of 30 or more skilled employees. Must have a strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission process systems
The successful candidate will be assertive in his/her communications and possess a sense of urgency with the ability to influence and motivate others. Critical is a strong problem-solving and mechanical acumen. The candidate must be able to delegate responsibility while providing coaching and feedback to develop others. He/she must demonstrate the characteristics of a successful leader and a willingness to contribute to the success of the organization.
