RoyOMartin-Rocky Creek Lumber

Rocky Creek Lumber Company was conceived and engineered with the concept of using southern yellow pine logs to manufacture small timbers. Construction began on the mill at Mexia, Alabama, in 2000, with production starting in July 2001. RoyOMartin acquired the operation in March 2006.

The mill accepts tree-length logs that are first taken through a series of fully computerized systems that convert the logs into small timbers. These timbers are then stacked and taken to natural gas-fired kilns for drying. After processing at the planer mill, the next step is to be graded according to the Standard Grading Rules for southern pine, published by the Southern Pine Inspection Bureau (SPIB).

Our product line consists of the following:

* 2x4 and 2x6 up to 12' lengths
* 3x4 8' and 10' lengths
* 4x4 up to 16' lengths
* 4x6, 5x5, 6x6 up to 20' lengths

Items are available S4S, S2S, or rough. Certain products, such as 3x4, may be precision-end-trimmed for special applications. The current annual production of the RoyOMartin-Rocky Creek mill is in excess of 91 million board feet. All grade-stamped lumber is certified by Timber Products Inspection (TPI).

Shipments from RoyOMartin-Rocky Creek Lumber can be arranged by centerbeam railcar or by common carrier. The mill is served by the Alabama and Gulf Coast Railway and has access to the NS, BN, and CSX, in addition to service by flatbeds. Proximity to the Port of Mobile and other Gulf ports allows for easy export shipments.
